2004 IOTA SIGMA PI UNDERGRADUATE AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN CHEMISTRY

Laura M. Wally, Colorado State University

Laura’s academic record is described as outstanding by her professors at Colorado State University.  In Professor Nancy Levinger’s nomination letter, Laura is described as having exceptional intelligence and aptitude for chemistry.  She has used her talents and creativity in outreach efforts to teach chemistry to K-8 students.  Her development of chemistry activities for these young students has led to a recently submitted publication to the Journal of Chemical Education. It is impressive that Laura is first author on the paper.  Laura’s professional goal is to be a science educator and to make science accessible to all.
