In Professor Elena Rybak-Akimova's nomination letter, she describes Mimi Cho as one of the very best students she has ever met at Tufts or any other institutions she has been associated with. Her nearly perfect GPA and the fact that she has shown that she is an exceptionally strong research productivity makes Mimi an ideal award recipient. Her research involves the preparation of compounds that mimic active sites of oxygen activating iron enzymes. The work is currently being written up for publication. Mimi’s plans are to go to graduate school in biochemistry and to pursue an academic career.
