IOTA SIGMA PI
UNDERGRADUATE AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN CHEMISTRY

CRITERIA:

  • The nomination shall be for excellence in chemistry.

  • The nominee shall be a senior woman chemistry student in an accredited college or university.

  • The nominee may be, but need not be, a member of Iota Sigma Pi.

CONDITIONS:

Each department shall be entitled to make one nomination. Nominations must be received by February 15 and the recipient will be notified by April 16.

The complete dossier, the original plus 5 (five) copies, must contain:

1.  The nomination form containing the permanent and college or university addresses of the nominee.
2.  Transcripts of the student's college record including the grade point average.
3.  A list of the student's activities while in college and a statement of plans after graduation.
4.  Two or more recommendations by faculty members.

AWARD:

The honorarium will be $500. The award will be presented at Honors Day on campus, a nearby local meeting of Iota Sigma Pi or the American Chemical Society, or at a suitable time arranged with the department chairman of the awardee.
